Vertigo Ayurvedic Treatment
Vertigo is the feeling of losing body balance and the world around you or your head is spinning around. Common causes are problems of inner ear like deposition of calcium in ear, Meniere’s disease, infections etc. Other reasons are migraine, injury to head or neck, brain tumours, stroke or some medicines.

Bhrama is the condition in which the person feels giddiness and is a symptom of many health issues like pandu (anaemia), ear diseases, problems of head or neck etc. Sometimes it may occur when the person is weak due to over-exertion.
Vertigo Causative Factors (Ayurveda)
Bhrama occurs when vata and pitta are vitiated along with rajas (manodosha), and kapha is reduced. Chronic infections, udara roga (disease of intestine), fever, bleeding disorders etc are other causes of bhrama.

The complications of vertigo depend on its cause, but the common difficulty is falls or accidents.

Consider other health conditions like disorders of brain, hypertension, ear diseases etc before planning treatment.

Manage vertigo according to its cause. Treat the underlying disease first. Rest is important during the phase of vertigo.

Take light semi-solid/ liquid diet. Reduce the intake of salt. Fruits, fruit juices, soups, tender coconut water etc are beneficial.

Mild to moderate exercises can be done to improve the body balance as per the guidance of the physician. Yoga and meditation are also helpful.
Vertigo Preventive Aspects in Ayurveda
Control blood pressure. exercise regularly. Avoid stress. Apply suitable oil in ears on a daily basis. Oil massage over the scalp is also beneficial. Drink plenty of water. Do not look downwards or upwards for long periods. Ensure adequate sleep.

Avoid food and drinks that increase vata and pitta. Reduce the intake of salt and sugar.
Lifestyle
Maintain healthy body weight. take healthy nutritious diet. Drink more water. Exercise regularly as per the guidance of the physician. Control diabetes and blood pressure. Avoid stress. Quit smoking and limit the intake of alcohol.
